Project Case Study
As construction advisor to the City of Kansas City for the Bartle Hall Expansion, McCownGordon and its joint venture partner provided services from conceptual through final estimating, review and approval of all contractor pay applications, scheduling, value engineering, RFP preparation, contractor solicitation, contract preparation and administration, project-wide safety program, MEP coordination, LEED commissioning, energy management and systems integration, public relations and the coordination of the PCIP insurance program.

The project scope included renovating 160,000 square feet of existing meeting and pre-function spaces, construction on inter-connecting tunnels below grade to allow for connection to other convention facilities, renovating the Barney Allis parking garage and renovating the Municipal Auditorium.

Also included within the project the team managed the construction of a new 120,000 square-foot ballroom addition, including associated ancillary spaces, pre-function spaces, sound and lighting control facilities, streetscaping and a wayfinding system for the entire complex.
